EXPLORATION & DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
OMI's exploration and development strategy is to discover and define additional resources and build a reserve base that will maintain current production in the short term and support an increase in gold production over the medium term
- Short-term Exploration and Development Goal: Continue to explore and define resources and reserves around the San Gregorio mine site to maintain a target production rate of 60,000 ounces per annum over the next three years.
- Develop underground operations at Arenal Deeps
- Convert San Gregorio Resources to underground Reserves
- Define additional near-surface Reserves around existing pits such as Santa Teresa, San Gregorio and Zapucay
- Define additional near-mine Resources at projects like Nueva Australia, Picaflor and Peru
- Medium-term Exploration and Development: continue exploring within Uruguay to discover and define 500,000 ounces of new resources over a three year period.
- Discover additional near-mine Resources at prospects like Rincon, Areicua and Laureles
- Define Resources at advanced regional projects like Crucera and Mahoma
- Continue Exploring near mine and regional prospects such as; Curtume, Vaca Muerta, Vichadero, Presidente Terra, Texas, Rocha and Paso de Lugo
